Lesley Gist is a high school teacher in Wayne, New Jersey. The historian in her first became evident when she began research on the college paper, which would become The Gist of Freedom. She advocates for the recognition of the dynamics of multi-culturist collaborations in every talk she gives around the country.
Focused on the remarkable life of William Still and how he influenced the Underground Railroad and all he met along the way. Her talks are committed to promoting social change brought about by people acting in good faith towards one another.
The Gist of Freedom is how Still Faith tells the story of William Still and Peter Gist. Their story is now a part of the National Park Service’s National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom!
